TEAR TROUGH

The tear trough area, the delicate space between your lower eyelid and upper cheek, plays a big role in how rested and refreshed you look. When this area becomes hollow or darkened, it can create the appearance of under-eye shadows, puffiness, or tiredness, even when you’re feeling fine. This is a common concern for both men and women and one that’s often difficult to address with skincare alone.

At TST, we offer tear trough treatment using advanced dermal fillers, designed to restore volume, smooth shadows, and refresh your overall appearance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is tear trough hollowing?

Tear trough hollowing occurs when the area under the eyes loses volume. This can occur due to ageing, genetics, or changes in skin quality. As we get older, the natural fat pads in the face shift and reduce, collagen levels drop, and the skin becomes thinner. The result is a groove or depression under the eye that casts a shadow, making you look tired or older than you feel.

In some people, tear trough hollowing is simply down to facial anatomy. If you’ve always had darker circles or a sunken look under the eyes, it could be that this is your natural bone structure, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.

What are the common concerns in the tear trough area? Patients often come to us with concerns such as: Dark under-eye circles that don’t improve with skincare or concealer A hollow or sunken appearance beneath the eyes A tired or aged look, even when well rested Fine lines and crepey texture in the under-eye area A visible separation between the lower eyelid and the cheek These concerns can be genetic or age-related, and they often become more noticeable in your 30s and beyond. In many cases, tear trough fillers can provide a simple and effective solution.

How do tear trough fillers work? At TST, we use high-quality hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers to treat the tear trough area. HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body that attracts moisture and provides volume. When carefully injected under the eyes, it helps to: Smooth the transition between the lower eyelid and the cheek Reduce the appearance of hollows and shadows Brighten and refresh the under-eye area Improve overall facial harmony The treatment typically takes around 30 minutes and is performed using a cannula or fine needle, depending on your anatomy and the desired result. As the under-eye area is delicate, precision and experience are key. At TST, all treatments are performed by medically trained practitioners with in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy, ensuring your safety and natural-looking results.

Is it right for you? Tear trough treatment is suitable for many people, but not everyone. If you have significant puffiness or fluid retention under the eyes (rather than hollows), filler may not be the right approach. That’s why a consultation is essential. We’ll assess your concerns, check for underlying causes, and recommend the most effective treatment plan for you. Another approach is Polynucleotides which are filtered and ultra-purified natural DNA fractions that initiate your body’s natural fibroblast production, resulting in increased collagen Tired of looking exhausted?
