BUMP ON NOSE

The nose is the central feature of the face and a bump on the nose, or dorsal hump, can often affect self-esteem, particularly when seen in profile. Typically, your nose shape and size are determined by genetics, but occasionally an injury can affect the nose’s external appearance.

A rhinoplasty or surgical nose job is a popular cosmetic surgery procedure to reshape the nose, but many men and women wish to investigate subtle tweaks to the nose to improve appearance without the risks of a general anaesthetic, considerable downtime and also the chance of an unsatisfactory but permanent result.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it possible to treat a bump on the nose without surgery?

Temporary hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be used to smooth out the appearance of a nose bump, creating a straight line to the nose bridge.

As well as camouflaging a bump on the nose, dermal fillers can build up a flat bridge as well as address asymmetries. They can also be used to reshape the tip of the nose. By altering the dimensions and definition of the nose, it is possible to make it appear slimmer, straighter and more lifted.

However, it is important to realise that there are some limitations to the non-surgical approach. It cannot make a larger nose smaller or correct deviations in the cartilage that can affect the nose’s functionality.
